Time seems to fly by when we’re having fun, but when we’re sitting in a class that is boring, it seems to take forever. We know the feeling, so we decided to make a list of seven fun things that will keep you entertained for a while. Find a technique that works best and you can certainly make the time pass a little faster!
Doodling is a classic and one of the coolest ways to make school time fly. All you need is a pen or pencil and your notebook and you’re ready to start working on your drawing skills. You can doodle anything you want, from stars, flowers, cartoons, hearts, to symbols. Doodling is a great activity that will keep you entertained for at least half an hour because it helps relieve boredom and frustration. If you don’t want to be noticed by the teacher, tilt the notebook towards you to look like you’re actually listening and taking notes.
If you still got a few more minutes before the bell rings, look out the window and let your mind wander a bit. Think about what you’re going to eat or do after school or where you’d travel in the world if you had the chance. Let your mind wander during a tedious lesson and when you come back, you’ll realize that time has passed faster that you would have expected. Daydreaming can be a great way to pass the time and be creative.
Play Arcade Games
Why not enjoy some quality game time while listening to a boring lecture? Playing a game on your phone can keep your mind active while the class is going on. You can choose your favorite game, just make sure you don’t get too excited and show to your teacher that you’re not that interested in the lesson. You can also play games like sudoku or a crossword puzzle.
Origami, the ancient art of paper folding is still one of the coolest ways to pass the time. Folding a boat that says “Titanic” may be amusing, but you must be careful with the sound the folding makes. In addition to being a fun way to pass the time, it has been proven that origami actually engages students and enhances their skills including improved logical thinking and spatial perception.
Meditate Silently in Your Seat
Meditating silently is a relaxing way to entertain yourself at class. Sit straight with both feet flat on the ground and breathe deeply in and out. Focus on deep breathing, but be careful and don’t breathe too loudly. Clear your mind of unwanted, negative thoughts and focus on all the good happening in your life.
Listen to Music
If you have long hair and subtle in-ear headphones, you can always listen to music in class. Be smart and prepared beforehand, so test your music player’s volume and set up your headphones before entering the classroom. Try to keep it on the quiet side and avoid nodding your head and singing along if you want to avoid being caught.
Write Notes to Your Friends
Even though Facebook and Twitter are some of the most obvious ways to amuse yourself during boring lectures, passing notes is a classic method of classroom communication. For many students, exchanging secretive and personal information is a really fun way to pass the time in school, especially during classes they find utterly boring. Enjoy, but be careful… the consequences of your notes getting into the wrong hands could be catastrophic.
